It all began down an alleyway, the greatest adventure of my life, in the Centro Storico of Sinalunga. Previously, I had bought a tiny casetta there as a holiday base, never dreaming that one day it would become my only home. Little money, no means of making a living, two beloved cats and a crazy kind of optimism which fuelled my courage to let out my bedroom and bathroom while I slept under the desk in my sitting room. Curiously enough, the whole thing took off. People offered me their cottages and villas and in no time ‘Laura’s Houses’ was born, which has become so successful that eight years ago I was able to buy a beautiful old village house with a wonderful roof terrace looking out over the Valdichiana. My book, ‘Down a Tuscan Alley’ telling the story of the intrigue, passion and adventure, comes out in October and can be ordered on Amazon.
